Kinta District is the fifth largest district in the State of Perak. Its position is in the middle of the state, bordering Kuala Kangsar District on the North, Perak Central on the West, Batang Padang on the South and the states of Kelantan and Pahang on the East. The District Administrative Center is located in Batu Gajah City where its small administration covers the smaller districts, Batu Gajah, Ipoh and Kampar. In this area also, the city of Ipoh is the largest city at the state level and is the heartbeat of activities organized by the local authority, Ipoh City Council. With approximately 182,077 hectares (1, 821 sq. Km) of Kinta District was compiled with a population of 819,443 at the census of 2004. The Batu Gajah District And Land Office is the heart of the district administration center responsible for general administrative matters, festivals – formal celebration, planning and coordination of development projects, implementation of small rural development projects and enforcement of land laws and regulations. The management of the entire district administration is District Officer and also the President of the West Kinta District Council. He was assisted by the Chief Assistant District Officers of the Batu Elephant District, Batu Elephant Development Division, Ipoh Sub-District and Kampar / Gopeng Sub-District. He is also the Chairman of the District Safety Committee and is responsible for the district community to live in peace and prosperity.
